Beautiful fall day here. The bull came yesterday, so the cows are happy. We co-own the bull with Someday Farm up the road and brought him down to stay with our herd for six weeks.

The turkeys are huge -- Matt at Someday has the same age turkeys, since he sold us the poults, and he said the ones he slaughtered this weekend weight 18 lbs. Wow. We're not processing for another couple weeks, so our

fall chores

We're past peak in foliage, which means there are less leaves on the trees compared to the ones on the ground. But, it's still beautiful. I went to Stowe this week for a meeting and the mountains were gorgeous. The lower areas still have the reds of later foliage season, but the upper areas are stark and naked of their leaves. Mt. Mansfield looks like it's begging the sky to be cloaked in snow.
